About IQAC
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangalore, is established in line with the guidelines of the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It functions as a catalyst for quality enhancement and ensures the integration of quality practices in teaching, learning, research, and administration.
IQAC plays a pivotal role in developing and applying quality system for the consistent improvisation in the overall performance of the institution. It coordinates and monitors various initiatives, ensuring the adoption of best practices and the continuous pursuit of academic excellence.
Objectives of IQAC
- To sustain and enhance the relevance and quality of academic programs through structured monitoring and continuous evaluation processes.
- To ensure excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment by adopting innovative, student-centric pedagogical strategies.
- To cultivate a dynamic ecosystem that fosters research, innovation, and consultancy, aligned with academic and societal needs.
- To organize workshops and Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) that strengthen faculty competencies in quality assurance and academic leadership.
- To implement robust, efficient, and environmentally sustainable governance practices that support institutional effectiveness.
- To systematically collect, analyze, and act upon feedback from all stakeholders for continuous quality improvement and informed decision-making.
Roles & Responsibilities of IQAC
- The IQAC shall conduct meetings twice a year — the first at the beginning of the academic year to formulate strategies for academic and administrative excellence, and the second at the end of the academic year to review the outcomes and achievements. The quorum for each meeting shall be two-thirds of the total number of members.
- IQAC is responsible for monitoring and enhancing the quality and relevance of academic programs through structured evaluation, periodic reviews, and alignment with academic and industry standards.
- IQAC promotes the adoption of innovative, student-centered pedagogies and ensures the effectiveness of teaching and evaluation through systematic audits and stakeholder feedback.
- IQAC supports and facilitates research initiatives, innovation practices, and consultancy activities by creating an enabling environment and encouraging faculty and student participation.
- IQAC organizes Faculty Development Programs (FDPs), workshops, and training sessions to build academic, leadership, and quality assurance capacities among staff.
- IQAC drives the implementation of efficient, transparent, and eco-friendly governance systems and ensures continuous institutional improvement through regular stakeholder engagement and feedback analysis.
