The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangalore, in association with IQAC and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Recent Advances in Aerospace Engineering” on 31 July 2026 at the International Seminar Hall.
The programme began with an invocation prayer. Dr. C. Kamalakannan, Principal, welcomed the gathering and emphasized the importance of establishing a Supersonic Research Laboratory, highlighting its multidisciplinary research, consultancy, and industry collaboration potential.
Dr. Imran Mokashi, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, introduced the resource person, Dr. S. A. Khan, Professor, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). Dr. Khan delivered an insightful lecture on the latest advancements in aerospace engineering, focusing on emerging technologies, supersonic research, and future opportunities in the aerospace sector. The session concluded with an interactive discussion.
Dr. Abdullah Gubbi felicitated Dr. S. A. Khan in recognition of his valuable contribution. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Mohamed Kafeel Delvi, Programme Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to the management, resource person, faculty members, and participants for making the event a success. The FDP witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members.
