The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangaluru, organized a two-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Be a Great Mentor to Be a Good Teacher” on 17th and 18th July 2026 at the International Seminar Hall. The program brought together faculty members from all four institutions under Bearys Education—Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Bearys Enviro-Architecture Design School (BEADS), Bearys Institute of Emerging Science (BIES), and BIT Polytechnic —with the objective of strengthening mentoring skills and fostering holistic professional development among educators.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by the Director, Dr. Manjur Basha, who emphasized that effective teaching extends beyond classroom instruction and that every teacher has the responsibility of guiding, motivating, and mentoring students to help them realize their full potential. The resource person introduction was done by Dr. Imran Mokashi, IQAC Coordinator.
The sessions were conducted by Dr. Logasakthi Kandasamy, NLP & Leadership Trainer and Associate Professor – Human Resources and Organizational Behaviour (HROB), RV University, Bengaluru. Through interactive and activity-based sessions, he highlighted the significance of effective mentoring, communication, mindset transformation, leadership, and personal growth. The insightful deliberations encouraged faculty members to adopt a student-centric approach and inspired them to become empathetic mentors capable of making a meaningful and lasting impact on students’ academic and personal development.
The valedictory ceremony marked the successful conclusion of the Faculty Development Program. Principal Dr. C. Kamalakannan felicitated the resource person, Dr. Logasakthi Kandasamy, in recognition of valuable contribution and enriching sessions. The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, resource person, organizers, and all participants, followed by the National Anthem.
