Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT) and BIT Polytechnic jointly hosted the Inaugural Ceremony of World Green Building Week (WGBW) 2025 on 9th September 2025 at the International Seminar Hall, with enthusiastic participation from students of BIT, BIT Polytechnic, BEADS, BITPT, BIES, and BIPUC.
The inaugural program featured insightful addresses by distinguished dignitaries, including the keynote lecture on “Green Building – Smart Living” by Dr. Palakshappa K, Head of Civil Engineering, P.A. College of Engineering. Speakers emphasized the urgent need for sustainability in design, construction, and daily living.
Following the inauguration, a week-long series of activities engaged students in creative and impactful ways, including the Eco Palette Art Contest, One-Minute Video Campaign, Essay Writing, Art from Waste, Digital Poster Making, Elocution Competition, and a Promise Campaign. The celebrations concluded on 13th September 2025 with a plantation drive organized by the Civil Engineering Department, reinforcing BIT’s commitment to environmental conservation.
The event successfully raised awareness on sustainable practices, nurtured student creativity, and strengthened the Bearys group’s vision of fostering eco-conscious education. Students pledged to carry forward these lessons, acting as ambassadors of sustainability in society.
