The Department of Computer Science and Engineering celebrated Vanamahotsava, the annual tree plantation festival, on 4th July 2024 with great enthusiasm and environmental awareness. The event aimed to sensitize students about the importance of conserving nature, increasing green cover, and protecting the environment for future generations.
The programme was inaugurated by the Principal, who highlighted the significance of tree plantation in combating climate change and promoting ecological balance. Faculty members, non-teaching staff, and students actively participated in the celebration.
As part of the event, students planted saplings around the campus under the guidance of the faculty coordinators. Different varieties of plants including fruit-bearing, medicinal, and shade-giving species were planted to enhance the greenery of the college surroundings. Participants also took an oath to nurture the saplings and contribute positively to environmental sustainability.
The event included a brief awareness talk on:
- Role of trees in maintaining ecological balance
- Impact of deforestation and pollution
- Importance of student involvement in green initiatives
The Vanamahotsava celebration created a sense of responsibility and commitment among students toward protecting nature. The campus radiated vibrancy as students came together to make a meaningful contribution to the environment.
