Report on Anti-Drug & Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme

The NSS Unit of Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangalore , organized an Anti-Drug & Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme on Tuesday, 12th August 2025 at Bearys Knowledge Campus (BKC), Mangalore. The event aimed to spread awareness among students about the harmful effects of drugs and the importance of maintaining a ragging-free campus, under the theme “A Safe Mind. A Safe Campus. Say No to Ragging & Drugs.”
The programme commenced at 10:15 A.M. with an Invocation followed by the Master of Ceremony conducted by Dr. Mohamed Kafeel Delvi , NSS Programme Officer, BIT, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries and participants. Dr. Kafeel also delivered a short yet impactful speech on drug abuse and ragging, urging students to be responsible, uphold the values of discipline, mutual respect, and civic responsibility, and actively contribute to fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive campus environment.
The event was presided over by Dr. S.I. Manjur Basha , Principal of BIT. In his Presidential Address, he delivered a powerful and inspiring message, emphasizing the collective responsibility of students, faculty, and the institution in building a safe, inclusive, and drug-free campus. He spoke passionately about the role of education in shaping responsible citizens and motivated the students to uphold integrity, mutual respect, and a spirit of cooperation. His words resonated deeply with the audience, leaving a lasting impression.
Mr. Puneet Gaonkar, PSI, Konaje Police Station, delivered a highly engaging and impactful speech on the dangers of drug abuse and the menace of ragging. He discussed the legal implications, shared real-life incidents, and encouraged students to be vigilant and proactive in preventing such issues on campus.
Mr. Ramesh, from the Police Department, gave a brief but meaningful talk, reinforcing the importance of discipline, law awareness, and mutual respect among students.
