The Department of Mechanical Engineering successfully conducted its Sports Day “MECHSPO-2K25” on 24th November 2025 for the students and staff of the department. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all members, contributing to the grand success of the sports day.
All students and staff were grouped into four teams—Dynamo, United, Titans, and Turbo. A total of four indoor events (Chess, Carom, Shuttle Badminton, and Ludo) and three outdoor games (Cricket, Football, and Volleyball) were organized as part of the competition.
The programme commenced with a prayer by Ms. Nushma and team. Following the prayer, Dr. Mohamed Kafeel Delvi, Associate Professor and Coordinator, delivered the Welcome Address, warmly greeting all dignitaries, staff, and students.
Next, Dr. Imran Mokashi, College IQAC Head, delivered the Presidential Address, emphasizing the significance of physical fitness, teamwork, and perseverance in students’ lives.
Dr. Purushothama, Professor, Civil Engineering Department, addressed the gathering and motivated the students to participate with passion, integrity, and respect for fair play.
The programme was efficiently conducted by Dr. Sandeep Nambiar, who served as the Master of Ceremony.
Mr. Prithviraj M., Director, BIT Polytechnic, also witnessed the sports day and appreciated the arrangements.
The day began with a Football match at Bearys Arena, followed by Cricket and Volleyball matches. Indoor events such as Chess and Carom were held at the Geotechnical Laboratory, while Shuttle Badminton matches were conducted at the Material Testing Laboratory. All indoor matches concluded by 5:30 PM
