Inaugural Ceremony of the Association of Civil Engineering (ACE 2025–26)

The Department of Civil Engineering at Bearys Institute of Technology, Mangalore organised the inaugural ceremony of the Association of Civil Engineering (ACE) for the academic year 2025–26. The event was held on 18 November 2025 at 9:30 AM in the Seminar Hall, in association with the IEEE GRSS Student Chapter.

The ceremony marked the formal launch of ACE activities for the year and brought together students, faculty members and invited guests. Dr T. Palanisamy, Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at NITK Surathkal, attended the programme as the Chief Guest. He addressed the students on the importance of professional associations, collaborative learning and the need for young engineers to stay engaged with emerging developments in the field.

The programme was presided over by Dr Altamashuddin Khan, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, and Dr S. I. Manjur Basha, Principal, BIT Mangalore. Both emphasised the role of ACE in building leadership, teamwork and technical competence among students.

Prof Zaheer Ahmed, Associate Professor and ACE Faculty Coordinator, outlined the objectives and planned activities of ACE for the coming year. He highlighted the need for students to take up technical challenges, participate in workshops and contribute to departmental initiatives.

Mr Mohammed Ahraz, ACE Student Coordinator from the seventh semester, shared upcoming student-led programmes and encouraged his peers to take an active role in ACE events.

The ceremony concluded with a note of appreciation to all organisers and participants. The Department welcomed the new ACE team and expressed confidence that the association would continue to promote innovation, learning and community engagement throughout the year.
