Mangalore, December 31, 2024: The Energy Conservation Week 2024 commenced at Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT) with an insightful inaugural session and a commitment to promoting sustainable practices. Spanning from December 31, 2024, to January 7, 2025, the event aims to raise awareness about energy conservation and inspire action toward a greener future. The event is generously sponsored by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd (KREDL). and the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), whose support underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting energy conservation.
The inaugural ceremony featured a keynote address by Prof. Sardar M.N. Islam from Victoria University, Australia, who spoke on the digitization of energy technologies. Prof. John Valder enriched the audience with his talk on the importance of alternative fuels. Dr. S.I. Manjur Basha, Principal of BIT, graced the occasion along with Heads of Departments and faculty members. The event was coordinated by Dr. Abdullah Gubbi, who delivered the welcome address, while Prof. Udaidullah proposed the vote of thanks.
The week-long event is packed with engaging activities to involve students and staff, including:

The activities are designed to educate participants on the pressing need for energy conservation while fostering a sense of responsibility and innovation among students.
