Mangalore, Sept. 24: The Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering at Bearys Institute of Technology organized a 24-hour inter-department Makethon – “Ecoverse” on September 23rd and 24th at the Bearys Knowledge Campus, Mangalore. The event was supported by IEEE BIT Student Branch.
The program was compered by Ms. Rahila, 3rd Sem CSE, and the welcome address was by Mr. Mohammed Owais, 5th Sem CSE. In his inaugural address, Principal Dr. S. I. Manjur Basha emphasized the importance of student participation in technical events. Event coordinator Prof. Mohammed Sinan highlighted entrepreneurship as a key driver for sustainability, while Dr. Abdullah Gubbi, HoD of ECE, encouraged students to think out of the box to address real-world challenges.
The Makethon, themed “Innovate Today, Sustain Tomorrow,” focused on clean air, pure water, green mobility, safe cities, and vibrant shores. A total of 31 Teams showcased innovative prototypes, with prizes and certificates awarded to the top three groups, and participation certificates to all.
The event witnessed enthusiastic student involvement and successfully blended creativity, technology, and social responsibility.
