The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized an Anti-Ragging and Drug Awareness Programme on 5th November 2024 with the objective of promoting a safe, inclusive, and healthy campus environment. The event aimed to sensitize students about the harmful effects of ragging and substance abuse while emphasizing the importance of discipline, mutual respect, and well-being.
The programme began with a welcome address by the Head of the Department, who highlighted the institution’s commitment to maintaining a ragging-free and drug-free campus he shared valuable insights on legal provisions related to anti-ragging and the physical and psychological consequences of drug abuse.
The speaker also encouraged students to adopt a positive lifestyle, seek guidance when in distress, and support peers in creating a friendly and responsible academic atmosphere. Real-life examples and awareness videos made the session more impactful and engaging.
Students actively participated in the discussion and pledged to stand against ragging and drug use in all forms. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the management, resource persons, and organizing committee for their efforts in conducting such a meaningful programme.
