AI Sparkathon 2025 – Two-Day Hackathon on AI and Data Science at BIT Mangalore.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, in association with BIT-ADVA, organized AI Sparkathon 2025, a two-day hackathon focused on Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, held on 1st and 2nd December 2025.

On 1st December, students worked in the laboratories to develop their prototypes. On 2nd December, teams presented their work and demonstrated their project outcomes. A total of 16 teams participated under the themes of Cybersecurity and Blockchain, Cloud and Smart Infrastructure, Healthcare AI, Smart Services, and Human Experience.

The Master of Ceremony for the event was Ms. Huzaina.

The Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 3rd December 2025. The judges for the event were Dr. Mehaboob Mujawar, Prof. Masooda, Ms. Huzaina, and Ms. Mariyath Shabnam.

The ceremony began with a prayer, followed by an address by the Principal, Dr. S. I. Manjur Basha, who emphasized the growing importance of AI in the modern world. He highlighted various AI-driven job roles in the industry and encouraged students to maintain discipline as a foundation for success.

Dr. Mehaboob Mujawar, HOD, AI&DS, delivered a talk on the significance of research in both academics and industry. He spoke about the relevance of patents and research contributions in shaping the future of technology. He also appreciated the efforts of the BIT-ADVA coordinators for their dedication and support. He concluded his speech by congratulating all the students for their enthusiasm, participation, and continuous learning.

The first prize was won by WaitNot: Digital Restaurant Ordering Solution, developed by Aman, Faisal, Irfan, and Imran. The second prize was awarded to Smart Pathways for Personalized Learning and Career Guidance Platform, developed by Saalihi Ali, Aife, Samhoon, and Harshith. The third prize was secured by Anouf, Mustafa, Ziyan, and Nikhith for their project titled AI-Powered Virtual Interviewer: Intervista.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Huzaina, expressing gratitude to the management, staff, judges, coordinators, and all participating students for making AI Sparkathon 2025 a grand success.
