Mangaluru, September 15, 2026: The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangalore, in association with the IEEE Student Branch , organized a GATE Outreach Session on September 15, 2026, at the International Seminar Hall, BIT.
The session was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among engineering students about the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), its importance for higher education, research opportunities, and career prospects in engineering and technology.
The programme featured Mr. Prashanth Prasannakumar, and Mr. Krishna Kant Mishra, IISc, PhD Scholar, as resource persons. They shared valuable insights into GATE preparation, examination strategies, academic opportunities, and the pathways available to students through GATE.
The programme was compered by Zainab, ECE, who coordinated the proceedings and welcomed the participants. Dr. Ubaidulla, HOD-ECE, delivered the welcome address and emphasized the significance of competitive examinations such as GATE in shaping students’ academic and professional careers.
The interactive session provided students with an opportunity to understand the examination pattern, preparation approach, and opportunities associated with qualifying GATE. Students actively participated in the session and benefited from the experiences and guidance shared by the IISc scholars.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Nikitha C,of ECE who expressed gratitude to the resource persons, institutional leadership, faculty members, organizers, and students for their valuable contributions to the successful conduct of the programme.
