Mangaluru, September 9, 2026: Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT) organized an inspiring invited talk titled “From Campus to Startup: Building Tomorrow’s Technical Entrepreneurs” on September 9, 2026, at the International Seminar Hall. The event was organized with the support of the IEEE Mangalore subsection, and IEEE BIT Student Branch, with the aim of encouraging innovation, entrepreneurship, and startup culture among students.
The session featured Dr. Sachin S. Bhat, Founder and Managing Director of Alar Innovations Pvt. Ltd., Professor and Dean–Research, SMVITM, Udupi, and Director, Sode Vadiraja Foundation, as the resource person. He shared valuable insights on transforming innovative ideas into practical solutions and encouraged students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and create technology-driven ventures. The event was graced by Dr. Manjur Basha, Director, BKC and Dr.Aziz Mustafa B, Principal, BIES and with various HODs. The event was compered by Mr. Iesa Abdullah, a second-year student of the CSE Department, Ms. Ayshath Shama, a second-year student of the CSE (IoT) Department, delivered the welcome address.
Dr. Sachin S. Bhat highlighted the importance of innovation, problem-solving, technological skills, and industry-oriented thinking in building successful startups. The interactive session motivated students to look beyond conventional career paths and consider entrepreneurship as a means of creating employment and societal impact.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Abdullah Gubbi, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, management, faculty members, student organizers, and participants for making the event a success.
