Food Fest “Le Gourmet” – SCR Activity

Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangaluru, through the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, successfully organized a Food Fest titled “Le Gourmet” as part of the Social Connect & Responsibility (SCR) subject on 27 December 2025. The event was held at 12:30 PM in Classrooms 103 and 104.The programme commenced with the Master of Ceremonies by Ms. Fathima Samna G K, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Dr. Mehaboob Mujawar, Head of the Department, AI&DS. The Presidential Address was given by Dr. S. I. Manjur Basha, Campus Director, Bearys Institutes Group of Institutions, Innoli. In his address, he appreciated the department’s initiative in organizing a student-centric, activity-based learning programme and highlighted the importance of practical exposure, creativity, teamwork, and social responsibility in holistic student development.The event was graced by the presence of Heads of various departments and faculty members, whose participation added significance to the programme. Students actively participated by preparing and presenting a wide variety of dishes, showcasing their culinary skills along with creativity, hygiene practices, originality, and effective explanation of their dishes. The Food Fest created a lively and engaging atmosphere, encouraging interaction between students and faculty and promoting experiential learning beyond the classroom.The event successfully enhanced teamwork, communication skills, and practical learning among students, thereby fulfilling the objectives of the SCR activity. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Ayshath Safwana D, Faculty, Department of AI&DS, BIT, who expressed her sincere gratitude to the management, faculty members, and students for their cooperation and support in making the event a grand success.
