Mangaluru, December 5: The Departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering at Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangalore, in collaboration with the IEEE BIT Student Branch and IEEE Mangalore Subsection, conducted a Hands-on Cloud Computing Workshop at the Mobile Application Lab.
The workshop was conducted by Mr. Shah Qasim Usmani, Computer Trainer at RIE (NCERT), Mysuru, who introduced participants to core concepts of cloud computing, virtualization, cloud service models, and practical hands-on exercises. The session enabled students to gain essential industry-oriented skills relevant to modern computing environments.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Abdullah Gubbi, Head of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering. In his opening remarks, he stressed the growing importance of cloud technologies and appreciated the collaborative efforts of both departments and IEEE coordinators in organizing the session.
Ms. Shaima, from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, efficiently carried out the role of Master of Ceremony (MC), ensuring the smooth flow of the programme.
The workshop concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Sinan of the CSE Department. He extended gratitude to the resource person, faculty organizers, IEEE Student Branch, and all participants for contributing to the success of the event.
The session received an enthusiastic response from students, who expressed that the workshop provided valuable practical exposure and deepened their understanding of cloud-based technologies.
