Mangaluru, December 5: The Departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Electronics & Communication Engineering of Bearys Institute of Technology, Mangalore, in association with the IEEE BIT Student Branch and IEEE Mangalore Subsection, organized a Hands-on Linux Workshop on Friday at the Mobile Application Lab.
The session was conducted by Mr. Shah Qasim Usmani, Computer Trainer, RIE (NCERT), Mysuru, who provided practical insights into Linux fundamentals, system operations, and command-line usage. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ technical competencies and prepare them for industry-relevant skill requirements.
The program commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Prof. Sinan from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. He highlighted the significance of open-source technologies and appreciated the enthusiastic participation from students of both departments.
Mr. Avez efficiently served as the Master of Ceremony (MC).The workshop concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. Abdullah Gubbi, The event witnessed active participation from students, who appreciated the hands-on exposure and expressed interest in attending more such skill-driven workshops in the future.
