Bearys Institute of Technology in association with BIT IEEE Student Branch organized an Invited Talk on Active and Passive Noise Pollution Control to Achieve NetZero on 3rd March, 2023 at 11:00 AM. The resource person for this event was Sher Afghan Khan (Prof. Dr.), IIUM Gombak Campus, Kulliyyah of Engineering, Malaysia.
In his talk Khan has said noise pollution is a growing concern in our modern world. It affects our health and well-being, disrupts our sleep patterns, and impairs our ability to concentrate. It’s not just an issue for individuals; it also affects the environment and wildlife.
He added the concept of NetZero aims to balance the amount of energy used with the amount of renewable energy generated. This goal is achievable, but it requires innovative solutions and a commitment from individuals, businesses, and governments.
Khan has shared knowledge and expertise on how we can reduce noise pollution through the use of innovative technologies and strategies, which are active and passive while also contributing to the larger goal of NetZero.
The event was a resounding success, with both students and staff members showing great enthusiasm throughout. Dr. S.I Manjur Basha, Principal of BIT-Mangalore, gave presidential remarks. Prof Sinan, Assistant professor, CSE welcomed the gathering. The guest was introduced by Dr. Imran Mukashi, Prof Mechanical Department.
