The Department of Civil Engineering, BIT, Mangalore, conducted the official inaugural function of the Association of Civil Engineering (ACE) on 9th January 2024 at 10:30 AM at the International Seminar Hall. The chief guest of the event was Er. Anil Baliga, Proprietor, Manjeshwar Techno Trades. It was presided over by Dr. S I Majur Basha (Principal), Dr. Nalini Rebello (HOD, Department of Civil Engineering), ACE Faculty Coordinator (Prof. Zaheer Ahmed), and ACE student coordinator (Mr. Mohammed Mahmood). A captivating video presentation highlighting the remarkable activities and achievements of the association (2022 – 2023) was played, providing a glimpse of the vibrant activities of the past year. Head of the Department, Dr. Nalini Rebello, delivered the welcome speech to set the tone for the event. Prof. Zaheer Ahmed, ACE Coordinator, introduced the office bearers, along with an oath-taking moment. He also previewed the activities for the academic year 2023-24. The logo of the Association of Civil Engineering was launched during the function. This logo is believed to accompany the journey of ACE in its growth and innovation. Later, Principal Dr. S I Manjur Basha, the chief guest of the event, addressed the gathering and gave his insights followed by Er. Anil Baliga and Dr. Azeez Musthafa (Vice Principal). The academic excellence was appreciated and recognized by felicitating the academic toppers of each semester’s students. Also, Dr. Purushothama C T and Dr. Altamashuddin Khan Nadeemallah were felicitated for completing their Doctor of Philosophy. The formal function concluded with a Vote of Thanks given by Prof. Aleema Safa.
