Inspiring Defence Aspirants: Career Guidance Interactive Session by Mr. Anees Kutty Held at Bearys Knowledge Campus

Mangaluru, October 12, 2025: An inspiring interactive session on “Exploring Careers in Defence: Opportunities & Preparation” was held on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Bearys Knowledge Campus, Innoli, near Mangalore University. The event was organized by Bearys Academy of Learning as part of its mission to provide students with practical career guidance and insights into opportunities within the Indian Defence Services.

The session commenced with a welcome address by Dr. S. I. Manjur Basha, Principal of Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT).

In his presidential address, Mr. Syed Mohammed Beary, Chairman of Bearys Academy of Learning, emphasized the pride, respect, and discipline associated with serving in the defence sector. He highlighted that those who serve the nation through the armed forces earn not only recognition but also lifelong regard, noting that preference is often given to individuals with defence backgrounds in various professional spheres.

The resource person, Mr. Anees Kutty, Founder and Director of Anees Defence Career Institute (ADCI), Pune, captivated the audience with his engaging presentation. With over 36 years of distinguished experience as a Defence Career Counsellor, Mr. Kutty has mentored countless aspirants who have gone on to become officers in the Indian Armed Forces.

Addressing a packed hall of students from diverse academic disciplines, Mr. Kutty provided a detailed overview of career pathways in the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. He explained the eligibility criteria, examination processes, and preparation strategies for major defence recruitment exams such as NDA, CDS, and AFCAT.
Emphasizing the values of perseverance, discipline, and determination, he motivated students to pursue their dreams with unwavering commitment. Through personal anecdotes from his mentoring journey, he illustrated the transformative power of dedication and the noble spirit of service that defines the nation’s defence personnel.
The session also featured an interactive Q&A, where Mr. Kutty addressed student queries on life in the armed forces, leadership qualities, and the role of moral integrity in national service. He further guided students on effective time management, leveraging institutional support, and honing personal development skills essential for success in defence careers.

In his concluding remarks, Mr. Kutty underscored the importance of continuous skill enhancement and adaptability to meet emerging national challenges. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and a strong turnout, reflecting the keen interest of students in exploring careers dedicated to the service of the nation.
The programme was coordinated by Prof. Mohamed Sinan, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, while Prof. Joyson from the Department of English served as the Master of Ceremonies (MC).
