Industrial visits allow the students to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. It gives the students exposure to current work practices as opposed to theoretical knowledge being taught in their college classrooms.

To get practical knowledge and to give an insight into the way things work in a real-life scenario, students of 3rd-year Mechanical Engineering, at Beary’s Institute of Technology, Mangalore visited KIOCL Limited, Panambur on 2nd  July 2022 as a part of an Industrial visit, assisted by 2 faculty members – Prof.Prithviraj M and Prof.Gokuldas M. A group of 28 members of Beary’s Institute of Technology, Mangalore (2 Faculty members & 26 Students) visited KIOCL Limited, Panambur, Mangalore.

The students first visited the training division at KIOCL limited. Mr Shivaraj, Head of the Training division briefed about the company. Then students visited the ore collecting centre, captive power plant, pallet plant, ball mill, filtration unit, vacuum filters and blast furnace. The final outcome of this industrial visit was information on the iron ore manufacturing process.
