CEABIT association, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Bearys Institute of Technology, conducted an invited talk on “Evolution and Convergence of Telecommunication and Information Technology” on February 18, 2020 at International Seminar Hall. The dignitaries on the dais were the Chief Guest of the program Mr. Mohammed Sameer K.M., Sr. Manager, Fixed Network Technology Labs, Dr. S I Manjur Basha, Principal, BIT, Prof. Afsar Baig, HOD, CSE Department, Dr. Aziz Mustafa, Director, BIT Polytechnic, Prof. Mohammed Sinan, Prof. Ankitha Bekal, Chief coordinator of CEABIT, Prof. Purushothama, HOD, Civil Department, Ms. Madeeha Nousheen, President, CEABIT.
The programme commenced by invoking the blessings of Almighty. The welcome speech was given Prof. Ankitha Bekal. Ms. Ankitha P. And Ms. Mariyam Mahsooma, 8th sem was the Master of Ceremony.
Prof. Mohammed Sinan gave a brief history of the CEABIT and explained the motto of installation of the association. The Principal BIT, Dr. Manjur Basha spoke a few words about the program and appreciated the team who worked for it. His speech was followed by an interesting talk by Dr. Aziz Musthafa, who enlightened the gathering about the importance of teamwork and the advancement of technologies in the world today. Prof. Afsar Baig educated the students on how to make the best use of platform and opportunities.
The event also witnessed felicitation of Ms.Lubna Mohammed Kunhi, for securing 7th rank in VTU examinations in the academic year 2018-19.
The Technical Talk was on “Evolution and Convergence of Telecommunication and Information Technology” by the Chief Guest Mr. Mohammed Sameer K.M. The abstract of his session was the historical perspective of telecommunication. He edified how Internet technology triggered convergence. He also briefed about the GPON, ONT and Information Technology. He concluded his session by mentioning career requisites on exploring technology, focusing on ambition, hard work, communication skills.
The event was concluded by felicitating the Chief guest with the memento and the formal function was concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Ms. Madeeha Nousheen.
