Bearys Institute of Technology celebrated with great pomp and cheer the Kannada Rajyotsava or Karnataka Foundation Day on November 1. The day marks the formation of the state of Karnataka in 1956 at Bearys Knowledge Campus at 9:00 AM. The program began by invoking Almighty followed by welcome address by HOD of Civil Prof: Purushotham C T. The Guest of honour was Dr. Somanna, Professor and Chairman of Kannada Department, Mangalore University, Mangalore. In his address he said, at the time of the formation, the state had been called Mysore, which was reminiscent of an old princely regime. However, respecting the popular mood the state was consequently renamed as Karnataka on November 1, 1973. He stressed to new generation to have primary education in regional language for the development of good thought process. Principal, Dr. Antony AJ gave a motivational speech on this very important day. In his speech highlighted the contributions of Bharat Ratna  C. Rajagopalachari, philosopher Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, and scientist C. V. Raman, who were honoured in 1954. He told the students to accept one among them as role model and achieve the success. The program was concluded with the talk by Dean (Academics), Dr. P Mahabaleswarappa. In his speech he said “Eenadaragu Modalu Manavanagu” meaning Be human being first. Staff and students of BIT Engineering, Polytechnic and Bearys Enviro-Architecture Design School (BEADS) were present.
