Nature has given to the mankind everything for its survival and sustenance. It is the man who destroys the nature and the environment for his unlimited greed. To create the environmental awareness among the people, Bearys Institute of Technology, Mangaluru is organizing every year “GREEN WALKATHON”. This year GREEN WALKATHON was held on Sunday, 24th September 2017 and the walk was from Nehru Maidan to Mangala stadium. Mr Mazhar Beary, Trustee, Bearys Group flag offed at sharp 7:30 AM in Nehru Maidan. More than 1500 students from different colleges enthusiastically participated in the walkathon. Many Mangalore Rotary club members, Pre-university college students and staff, Yenapoya University and Mangalore University students participated for this good cause. The principal of BIT and BEADS along with HODs of BIT and Teaching and non-teaching staff were present. Mr Mohammed Nazeer, commissioner, Mangaluru city given the valedictory speech at Mangala stadium.
