IQAC-BIT organized a one-day session on “NBA and OBE” on 13-11-2024. The resource person for the event was Mrs. Roopashree, Assistant Professor and NBA Coordinator, Department of Electronics and Communication, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management.
Mrs. Roopashree provided valuable insights on the framing of Course Outcomes (COs) based on Bloom’s Taxonomy and industry requirements. She emphasized the need to reframe the COs outlined in the syllabus by articulating various action verbs for each outcome. CO-PO articulation and mapping to higher-order POs were also explained, with the suggestion that mapping to higher-order POs can be achieved through targeted activities and appropriate assessments.
The different criteria of NBA accreditation were discussed, with a special focus on the importance of maintaining strong research publications, including publishing book chapters. Additionally, Mrs. Roopashree highlighted the need to document and strengthen the impact of various student initiatives to ensure that outcomes are achieved and quality is improved.
Faculty of Department of ECE, CSE, Heads of Departments, IQAC-Coordinator and the Principal of BIT participated in the session. The session concluded with a visit to the departments.
