An industrial visit offers the students with an opportunity to learn practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. It gives the students an exposure to current work practices as opposed to theoretical knowledge being taught in their college classrooms.
To get practical knowledge and to give an insight into the way things work in a real-life scenario, students of 3rd-year Mechanical Engineering (23 members) at Beary’s Institute of Technology, Mangalore visited ECO-BLISS, Bantwal Taluk and DECCAN PLAST Industries, Konaje on 19th January 2024 as a part of an Industrial visit, assisted by 3 faculty members – Prof.Arvind Kumar, Dr.Imran Mokshi and Prof.Vinod Kumar N.
ECO-BLISS is manufacturing of Bio-Plates from the naturally fallen dry sheaths of Betel nut trees and palm leaves. Eco-Bliss has pioneered a unique mechanical process to manufacture these traditionally hand-crafted cottage industry kitchenware, designed to suit changing needs and thereby, allowing them to dine in proximity with nature. Having the versatility of plastic, the durability of metal, and the elegance of glass, our biodegradable kitchenware is not only a smart alternative but a cost-effective solution against the traditional greenhouse-producing options.
The students will also have an opportunity to tour the production facilities and manufacturing methods in DECCAN PLAST Industries. Technical staff explained about various manufacturing processes for the development of different plastic chairs, tables, stools, crates, Storage Solution etc. with latest technology.
We are confident that this industrial visit will be a valuable learning experience for the students and will help them to gain a deeper perceptive of manufacturing and production process.
