The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at Bearys Institute of Technology, Mangalore, proudly inaugurated its departmental student association, BIT – Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Visionaries Association (BIT-ADVA), on 9th October 2024. The event was graced by Mr. Aravind Kumar, Center Manager of Comedkares Innovation Hub, Mangalore, as the Chief Guest, and Mrs. Saeeda Qasim, Program Facilitator, as the Guest of Honor.
The inauguration commenced with a heartfelt prayer, setting a reflective tone for the event. Dr. Mehaboob Mujawar, Head of the Department of AI & DS, inspired the students with his keynote address, encouraging them to excel not only in academics but also in innovation, ethics, and community service. Dr. S. I. Manjur Basha, Principal of the institute, highlighted the significance of Computer Science-related branches and the vast career opportunities available to talented individuals in the field.
In his address, Mr. Aravind Kumar spoke about the crucial role of social innovation thinking, urging students to embrace creativity and purpose in their academic journeys. Mrs. Saeeda Qasim introduced the Comedkares Innovation Hub in Mangalore and invited students to participate in the diverse courses offered by the hub, fostering a spirit of collaboration and learning.
The event, coordinated by Dr. Mehaboob Mujawar, was a seamless blend of inspiration and engagement. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Rafiah Fathima, and the introduction of the Chief Guest was eloquently presented by Ms. Thabsheera. Ms. Shama served as the Master of Ceremony, ensuring the program flowed smoothly.
As part of welcoming the new batch, Ms. Farya extended a warm greeting to the freshers, presenting them with a token of welcome. Additionally, Dr. Aziz Mustafa delivered an uplifting talk on the importance and future growth of Artificial Intelligence, motivating students to embrace AI as a powerful force for change.
