The Department of Civil Engineering at Bearys Institute of Technology (BIT), Mangalore, hosted the official inaugural ceremony of the Association of Civil Engineering (ACE) on 30th September 2024 at 10:30 AM in the Seminar Hall.
The event was graced by Er. Arun Prabha, General Manager (Technical) of Smart City LTD, Mangalore, as the chief guest. The function was presided over by Dr. S I Majur Basha, Principal of BIT, and attended by Dr. Nalini Rebello, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, and Prof. Zaheer Ahmed, ACE Faculty Coordinator. The event commenced with a video presentation, showcasing the association’s notable activities and achievements from the academic year 2023-2024. The presentation offered the audience a glimpse of the association’s vibrant and impactful initiatives over the past year.
Dr. Nalini Rebello delivered the welcome address, Following this, Prof. Zaheer Ahmed, the ACE Coordinator, introduced the new office bearers and shared the vision for the association’s activities in the academic year 2024-2025. In his address, Principal Dr. S I Manjur Basha shared valuable insights on the significance of professional associations like ACE in nurturing leadership and technical skills among students. Chief Guest Er. Arun Prabha emphasized the growing opportunities in civil engineering and the importance of aligning academic pursuits with industry needs.
The event also featured a felicitation ceremony recognizing the academic toppers of each semester, honoring their dedication and achievements. This acknowledgment of excellence inspired the students to continue their pursuit of academic and professional success.
The formal proceedings concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Mr. Abdul Rahiman Zulfiquar Ali M H, Vice President of the ACE Student Association, expressing gratitude to the guests, faculty, and students for their participation and support.
