“What lies within us is more important for a human to attain success. Values left to the children are more important than the values of the items” were the words of Dr.Yedapadithaya , Registrar Mangalore university.He was addressing the faculties of Bearys Institute of Technology on Faculty Induction Program.
He started with an impressive expansion of BIT, Be Inspired and Trusted. He said every faculty should remember the words of Nepolian “Accept the things which i cannot change, and the courage to change the things which i can. and wisdom to know the difference”
To be successful everyone of us should overtake the changes. He stressed on the 7 habits of highly effective people , book written by Stephen Covey. He concluded his talk with importance of 5 D’s. Destination , Direction , Discipline, Devotion & Dedication.
Birth is accident, but death is certain. We should do something remarkable which benefits mankind in the journey between life and death.Construction of Eiffel towers took just 13 months merely because of extensive planning involved.We indians have managers but not leaders. Essence of BIT is to create the leaders of tomorrow.If we have one good teacher then he/she can produce millions of good people. For doing this a teacher should have a clear mind and pure heart.
The stage was taken over by Mr. Syed Habeeb, Director HR- mPower Global, Bangalore. He trained the faculties in various life skills to boost the moral and commitment to attain success.
The second day session started with a motivational talk from the Chairman Syed Mohamed Beary. He started with his own life experience where he had days with one meal a day, working with fisherman, then in Bombay without knowing much of the languages, then as a real estate broker finally ending up as chairman of Bearys group which is a name for quality in the real estate field.He attribute all these to god’s grace. He insisted to the learned teachers that they can do wonders if they are willing to do.
He continued saying every one will get opportunity then he will be given responsibility. when this comes he will be accountable for whatever opportunity and responsibility he gets. Finally comes transparency. All these depends mainly on Intention. He said for the success of an institution, Management, Faculty, student and Parents are collaborative.
He put a light on the major milestones to be achieved by BIT in the next 5 years. in 2014, we should start M Tech programs, 2015- National and international accreditations, 2016- Strategic tie up with foreign universities, 2017-PhD Programs , 2018- Achieve deemed university.
He stressed on moulding the personalities of the students is important for a teacher. Converting ordinary stone into diamond is a real challenge. BIT has done it in the past by achieving 100% results with 81% distinction from ordinary set of students is remarkable. He said the tradition to go on.
He said about 5Ps come in unison gives ownership. They are Position, Planning, Potential, Passion, Perseverance. He concluded his talk saying that faculty should be multitasking, work as a team and take self initiative to attain success.
After that he formed various committees to take care of Admission, Academic Escellance, Discipline, Events and clubs, FDP , HR , Admin and Media.
Validictory ceremony was presided by Dr S.A Khan, Principal.Chief guest Mr.Harikrishnan , CIO Airtel Karnataka spoke about the offerings of the airtel India.
Guest of honour Mr. G SreeRamaMurthy enlightened the audience with his words saying if a teacher become good then the generation goes good. He also mentioned about the Guiness record achieved by Airtel in Association with NITK Suratkal where 343 members played mobile games at a single venue.
