Sampath of class 5 of Government Primary School, Innoli, a village under Pavoor Gram Panchayat jurisdiction was ecstatic. He was looking forward for the Independence celebration not because he would be served with laddu, but, he was told that he and his friends would get new chairs to sit.
Members of PRAY [Pain Relief And You] Club of BIT, thought to celebrate the Independence Day in its real sense. It was students of BIT PRAY club, who visited the nearby school and found they were in need of chairs for the students.
The 68th Independence Day Celebration at Bearys Institute Technology [BIT], Mangalore, was not limited with hoisting of the National flag. In fact BIT went a step ahead to be of service to the community. The club members distributed the chairs to the Government primary school.
PRAY Club coordinator, Prof Abul Lathif briefed the objectives of the club & recalled a several such activities were regularly undertaken in the past like distribution of notebook, stationary kit etc.
Dr Palakshappa, Principal, BIT conveyed his wishes. He assured of more such programs happening in the future.
“We are happy to see our kids happy” said, Mrs. Shobha Kumari, Headmistress, Govt Primary School, Innoli.
Mr.Mohammed Monu, Member, Taluk Panchayat was overjoyed and expressed, “I am really delighted. I am sure the strength of our school will increase, people will get to know that facilities will be rendered to the school thereby helps the school to grow. Facilities like this will be a platform for the students to perform.”
Mr Melvin D Souza, ZP Member, congratulated the initiative and wished the students.
